BOOK LAUNCH: “The Terror Factory: Inside the FBI’s Manufactured War on Terror”

Is the FBI foiling or creating terrorist plots?

A groundbreaking work of investigative journalism, “The Terror Factory: Inside the FBI’s Manufactured War on Terror” shows how the FBI has, under the guise of engaging in counter-terrorism since 9/11, built a network of more than fifteen thousand informants who infiltrate Muslim communities to create and facilitate fake terrorist plots for the bureau to foil and publicize as victories in the “War on Terror.”

The author, Trevor Aaronson, will be joining us live for his book launch to discuss the need to end the disturbing policies used by law enforcement to entrap otherwise harmless citizens.

His reporting about FBI informants in U.S. Muslim communities resulted in a Mother Jones cover story that won multiple awards, including the John Jay College/H.F. Guggenheim excellence in Criminal Justice reporting Award, the Molly National Journalism Prize, and the international Data Journalism Award.

The event is hosted by the Columbia Law School Human Rights Institute, CAIR-NY, BORDC, CUNY CLEAR, DRUM, the NLG-NY Muslim Defense Project, and the Rights Working Group, and will be followed by a book signing.
