HURRICANE SANDY – Grassroots Relief Efforts

HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF

Grassroots Relief Efforts
In the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, we are again reminded of how low income communities of color are continually underserved and marginalized by the governmental relief efforts. Pursuant to a partnership, DRUM is serving as a drop-off point for relief supplies (dry food, canned food, water) to be delivered to low-income Black and Latino communities in the Rockaways that have been excluded from relief efforts.

We are directing and urging allies from across the country to support organizations and efforts that are at the frontlines of tending to the forgotten communities and neighborhoods.
